July 2018

I have just completed a training program that I have been working on for the past 1.5 years and I do so with eagerness and reluctance.

As some of you are aware I have been studying Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) created by Dr. David Breceli. I am finding at my age that it is rare that I run across training/learning that is so different from my existing training. When this happens, I get excited all over again about being a social worker and a therapist, I have been amazed with what I have learned about trauma and how the body responds to trauma and to healing itself.  I am also amazed at the changes I have observed within myself practicing TRE regularly and for those who volunteered to learn from me. Personally this year has not been an easy year and I have found that when I regularly practice TRE, I have been more grounded and able to emotionally handle the challenges life has thrown at me. My next steps will be looking at how to explore incorporating this training into Dandelion Family Counselling. I look forward to offering this as an option to my clients.
